The Art of Korean Gifting: Ribbons & Cards
While a traditional greeting card is always a great option, the most popular and authentic way to send flowers or plants in Korea is with dual ribbon streamers.
These elegant ribbons are attached directly to the flower or plant arrangement, making your message highly visible and adding a traditional Korean touch.
How It Works
Left Ribbon - Your message
Examples:
- Happy Birthday
- Congratulations
- Wishing You Success
- With Deepest Sympathy
Right Ribbon - Sender’s name
Your name, family name, company name, or organization
Traditional Korean Ribbon Messages
If you’d like to give your gift a more authentic Korean touch, you can use one of the traditional messages commonly seen on Korean flower ribbons.
Here are some of the most popular examples:
💍 Weddings
Congratulations on your marriage
Traditionally used on a wedding wreath or flower arrangement sent to the groom’s side.
Congratulations on your wedding
Traditionally used for the bride’s side.
These expressions are still very commonly seen on Korean wedding wreaths.
🏢 New Business, Opening & Relocation
Congratulations on your new business / grand opening
A common message for a new store, restaurant, or business opening.
Wishing you continued growth and success
A versatile and traditional message often used for a business opening, office relocation, or a new beginning.
Congratulations on your relocation
A suitable choice when a company or office moves to a new location.
🎉 Promotions & Career Achievements
Congratulations on your promotion
Commonly used when celebrating someone’s promotion.
Congratulations on your new appointment / advancement
A more traditional and formal expression, often used when someone takes on a new position or receives a promotion.
🌸 General Congratulations

A simple Korean message that works for many occasions.

A warmer and more formal option for a special occasion.
Modern & Personal Messages
You don’t have to use traditional Korean expressions. A short and personal message in English or Korean is also a wonderful choice.

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
- Happy Birthday!
Congratulations
Congratulations
Heartfelt congratulations
- Congratulations on your achievement!
New Business
Wishing your business continued success
Wishing you the best in your new beginning
Thank You
Thank you
With our sincere appreciation
Which Message Should I Choose?
If you’re not familiar with Korean gifting traditions, don’t worry. A simple English message is perfectly appropriate.
However, if you’re sending a traditional Korean wedding wreath or congratulatory flower arrangement, using a Korean ribbon message such as 축 결혼 (祝 結婚) or 축 화혼 (祝 華婚) can make your gift feel more authentic and culturally meaningful.
For business occasions, 축 발전 (祝 發展) is a versatile traditional choice when you’re unsure which specific message to use.
You can also combine a traditional Korean ribbon message with the sender’s name or company name on the opposite ribbon.
Message Guidelines
Language: English and Korean are both supported.
Length: We recommend keeping each ribbon message to 15–20 characters for the best appearance.
Longer Messages: If you’d like to include a personal note, we recommend selecting a Card Message, which has virtually no length limit.
Complimentary: Both ribbon messages and card messages are provided free of charge and can be entered during checkout.
